Follow the yellow brick road over the rainbow and into The London Palladium, the capital's home of the family musical. Starring Michael Crawford as The Wizard and Danielle Hope (winner of the BBC's smash hit Over The Rainbow) as Dorothy. 
 
Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting adaptation of the all time classic, totally reconceived for the stage by the award-winning creative team that delighted audiences of all ages with their recent London Palladium revival of The Sound of Music. 
 
Developed from the ever popular MGM screenplay this new production contains all the much-loved songs from the Oscar winning movie score, all the favourite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber. 
 
Click your heels together and join Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their heart's desires. Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys as you rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat for all the family.

Sophie and Russell will perform eight performances per week
Sophie will play Dorothy on a full-time basis from Tuesday 7th February 2012
Russell’s first performance as The Wizard will be Tuesday 14th February 2012
 

Holidays:

Sophie will be on holiday from Tuesday 27th March 2012 to Sunday 1st April 2012 inclusive

Russell will not appear at the following performances: 

Sunday 11th March 2012
Friday 16th March 2012
Sunday 18th March 2012    

Both Sophie and Russell are confirmed to play these roles until Sunday 13th May 2012.

Running time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

IMPORTANT CASTING INFORMATION: Please note that DANIELLE HOPE will not perform on Tuesday evening performances and will be on holiday during the following performances: 14-18 December 2011. SOPHIE EVANS, runner up in Over the Rainbow, will play Dorothy at all of these performances. It has not yet been confirmed who will play Dorothy at the following extra matinees: 27 December, 30 December 2011 MICHAEL CRAWFORD (The Wizard until 5 February 2012), EDWARD BAKER-DULY (Tin Man), DAVID GANLY (Lion), PAUL KEATING (Scarecrow), EMILY TIERNEY (Glinda) and HANNAH WADDINGHAM (Wicked Witch of the West). Age Recommendation Suitable for all but babies and toddlers are not generally admitted to theatres. All children must have a paid ticket and be able to sit, unaided, in their own seat and be attentive to the performance so as not to distract other members of the audience. Admittance to the auditorium is at the discretion of the theatre management.
